Second Impression

By: Pile Staring off into the distance alone, Was my impression of you. I thought you were just an unaffectionate person. But when I talked with you once more, my remaining feelings… Were like being melted away in coffee, Or a comforting sensation like milk. I wonder if this is love? Or if it’s just a whim? Your hair swaying in the wind, Landing perfectly as it stops. I don’t understand… Please remain beautifully pure. You’ve become a withering flower. I only wish for just one timid smile from you, but I don’t receive it. I walk a little ways and then stop, and the reason is… I shouldn’t have this feeling of companionship, but I’m falling in love with you. The impression of always resting your chin in the palm of your hand, Even while I sleep, you never leave me. Looking at your thin figure from behind, you look over your shoulder at me. We’re always in the same place… But this scene is a dream that disappears. Dawn begins to break, like the freeing of a bird, With nothing else to keep it captive. It’s only me with nothing to show for, if only I told you. Feeling softly of the back of your right hand even though I’m at a distance. Because if the palms of our hands meet, I won’t be able to pull back. Let’s just stay like this. It would be contradicting to want to break it. I’ll hold you closely in my heart, While drifting through this lonely sea. Please remain beautifully pure. You’ve become a withering flower. I only wish for just one timid smile from you, but I don’t receive it. I can’t decide if this love will come true or not, so I will be honest with you now. I love you, so can I stay smiling next to you?
